telecommuting positions Knowledge Base
Looking for a job as someone's telecommuting personal assistant.? I want to be a personal assistant. Keep in mind that this personal assistant position would be telecommuting, meaning through contact by email, text message, or phone. And as a personal assistant, I would be assisting one person, not a whole company. Here's how I see it: as a personal assistant, my duties would be the things that you don't have the time to do. Whether it would be calling your cell phone service to update your contract, or even sending your niece a birthday card. I would do online shopping for you, calling any of your services (like lawn care services), or sending messages through the mail. How I see it is that every morning you would send me an email telling me of all the duties that I need to have completed by the end of the day or week. I would get them completed, then email you back. I am only 16, but I have a 4.0 GPA and I'm very organized. I would like to develop a trusting and close relationship with my employer. If you are interested, please email me. Thanks.
How can I get a government job that allows telecommuting? I would really like to work from home but enjoy the benefits of telecommuting with the government. Also, does anyone know of possible contracting positions with the federal government. I hear contractors tend to make more money than actual civil service.
With what type of degree can I easily find a good job working at home (telecommuting)? I am a student interested in finding a job working at home once I graduate with my current degree (BA Physics) or after I got a second degree. I was wondering if I got a masters in Computer Science for example how difficult would it be for me to find a job where I could telecommute. I am interested in finding a job/career, not starting a business at home and I am not looking for a low paying job (less than $40,000). Is there another field where it would be easier to find a job with these requirements? What type of degree or certifications are best suited for finding a position that allows extensive if not solely telecommuting?
Telecommuting jobs for web page design? I am currently getting my degree in Web page design and after I get my degree I would like to find a position in that field but I would like to telecomute (work from home) are there any websites that have listing of telecommuting jobs in the Web Page design field? If you know of any websites please list them
What are some legitimate jobs I could do from home? I have a college degree & a near-grad degree (won't be finished until the end of summer). I'm moving soon and to an area where childcare is scarce. I've been looking for some legitimate telecommuting positions. I've heard of 'hiremymom.com' but not sure how trustworthy or useful it would be. I'm planning to do some online scoring for the CAHSEE but that's only a few months of the year. I don't need to get rich - right now I make $17/hr but after private school tution, preschool, and daycare I net about $200-300/mo (that's before I factor in the gas $ too!)... thank goodness my husband has a well-paying job, ha! But I'd like to contribute a little for the "extras" or even to build some savings, pay off some debt, etc (just bought our first home). Any links to LEGITIMATE jobs or sites are appreciated. I currently work as a resesarch associate so I have experience writing research papers, etc. & thought that might be something I can do via telecommuting. or Admin work..?
Goal: receive work from employer, do research, data entry, provide cust. serv. etc. Dilemma: find employer!? My goal is to work from home. I'd like to find an employer who offers this flexibility. I prefer to work with paper files, which can either be pick-up or over-nighted to me or I suppose I could access work info. via the company's network or internet website. I've tried the "data entry/typist" jobs and lost about $40. Does anyone have any ideas for me about big companies that might offer telecommuting positions? I simply want to be in my own comfortable environment, doing my job, and of course, earning a paycheck.
Does anyone know if Onsourcedata.com is a legitimate business? Onsourcedata.com is a business offering home office telecommuting positions. A one-time $29.95 fee must be paid to get the training materials and once completed, then an individual can make $20/hr. Would like to know if anyone has had experience with this company and if it is legitimate. I cannot seem to find anything out about this company.
Job Offer in The Wrong Location? I just finished School and I recently had an exceptional job offer for a job that I applied for a long time ago. The problem is, that it is in the wrong state. My family is planning on relocating in two months (I was unaware of this when i applied) and I have been seeking out jobs in my new state for ages with no good responses. I would ideally love to take the job in my current state and have this job turn into a telecommuting position if posible. How can I find out the possibilities for telecommuting prior to accepting the job without raising concerns with my new employer? Can I negotiate this into my job counter offfer? If so, how? Do you reccommend not mentioning the word "telecommute" now and asking for the telecommuting option when the time comes? I look forward to your advice.
Which IT degree will help me work from home? I am a young professional, almost 2 years out of college with a Bachelors in engineering, and I work in the Information Technology industry (I'm currently a software tester). I want to find a job I can do from home, but they are few and far between. Would a Masters degree (in Information Technology) help me find a telecommuting position? I want to work in software, not call-center stuff or telemarketing. Does anyone have tips on what telecommuting managers are looking for, or if there's anything else I should be doing? A side note - I work for the government as a contractor, and in my group the gov. employees are allowed to work from home once a week, but not the contractors. It's frustrating!
Any advice for Telecommuting? I've been working for one year with this company which is thousands of km far, and which I've never seen. I'm now promoted to marketing assistant It's a cool job but I feel sometimes forgotten! Maybe the lack of internal communication ? Any advice on how to reinforce my position and take care of my carrer would be very appreciated! Thanks!
Please help me find out if a business is legitimate? I responded to an ad on Craigslist for a telecommuting administrative position. The response I received was too good to be true. Does anyone know of a company by the name of Corndell Furniture Co Ltd and do you think that their offer is a scam. Plus, how can I verify their legitmacy as they are located in the UK. Thank you for your help.
Car pooling with a member of the opposite sex: does it give the appearance of impropriety? I commute 42 miles to & from work, each way, every weekday, so 84 mi./day total. Hearing that gas may hit $3.75/gallon this summer, I want to start car pooling. The manufacturing plant where I work is pretty isolated, and I can find only one person whose schedule fits mine and who lives close enough to my route to work to make it worthwhile. My only concern is that I am a married man, and she is an attractive, single woman. She & I both work in professional positions, me as a software engineer, her as a product data coordinator. Telecommuting would save me around $75/month, but would people talk? My wife & I need to save money because she lost her job in January. Also, if you were married, how would you feel about your spouse car pooling with an attractive member of the opposite sex, especially if you knew they were going to be in a car together for around an hour total every day? Would it worry you at all, or would you be comfortable with it? Thanks everyone for all the incredibly interesting input! Although I have decided to go ahead and do it (gas went up AGAIN last night), I still appreciated hearing from people who said not to do it. I appreciated yours too, elvlayarvvi, even though your wording was very strong -- I did not give you a thumbs down! We start Monday. Wish me luck! PS to Pure Evil -- That was so NOT an evil answer! An evil answer would have been, "Don't even tell your wife you're doing it. Just get this woman in the car with you and start working on the seduction!" See, you're not evil!

Where can I find telecommuting jobs reading for the blind? I have previous experience reading and scribing for the visually impaired. Since then, however, I have severe panic attacks and must work from home. I have been a freelance writer for the last four years and am looking for a change of pace. I would love to read for the blind through a PAID telecommuting job, but do not know where to start looking for such a position. I have already conducted such research, and most businesses run through volunteers only. Can anyone help? Thank you for your answers! PS I have already looked at my state's Commission for the Blind, School for the Blind, as well as various proofreading services, all to no avail.
Legit Work From Home? I am looking to make a decent salary with a legitimate telecommuting position - no stuffing envelopes, paying for a list, taking surveys but a real job with a company that exists outside the internet and has benefits. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

telecommute, then outsource the job ? There are a large number of telecommuting positions here in USA. I was thinking of getting a job telecommuting, something very basic, then outsource the tasks of the job to someone, most likely in India. I currently have a job and simply could do this in addition. I could take 30 mins a day in relaying tasks to my person in India and sending the work back to the employer. If I get fired, no big deal, the outsource would be a hourly pay and I still have my real job that I work hard at. Would this work? what issues might i get into? I would be using websites such as Elance, hireanindian, etc. All of these people are usually very good at English and I have outsourced project with these sites in the past with ease. no need to go to india
