Looking for a name for new business featuring gift baskets and interior decorating? Hello, I am starting up a home business where I will create custom gift baskets. I will have the option for the customer to bring me the stuff and I make it look pretty or I will create the basket using one of my themes. I also plan to offer services such as interior decorating, home organizing, and possibly even event decorating. I need a name that is classy and can encompass all of these things. I am in a very touristy town with many potential upscale clients. So far I am the only gift basket company out there(almost out there:o)) Ready, get your thinking caps on! Thanks!
Business Directory/Local Portal Home Business Opportunity...looks good...do you think I can succeed with it? I have been investigating a popular home based business opportunity, which is operating a local business directory and portal for my city. I would make money by selling featured listings and banner ads, as well as with built-in affiliate programs and the best part is that it doesn't require any programming knowledge (since I don't have any!). Anyhow, the one with the best appearance and features seems to the www.yourcityguide.net. They pre-load the website with all my local businesses and have many other great features. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with them or operates a city guide themselves. Do you think I have a good chance of success considering the minimal investment?
Upgrading Vista Home Premium to Vista Business? When I upgrading Vista Home Premium to Vista Business, will I have feature of both the OS (the special multimedia functionality of Vista Home Premium and the special functionality of Vista Business like Fax, IIS and other business programs) or will it remove the multimedia functionality of Vista Home Premium and only have Vista Business functionality after upgrading…? Actually I want both multimedia and business functionality after I upgrade. Note: please don’t suggest me Vista Ultimate. I know it has all that I want but it’s expensive, that’s why I plan to upgrade to vista business.

Are all work from home business' a scam? If a company is in good standing with the BBB.Featured in a national magizine is it too good to be true? What if there is a 100% money back no risk fee that is no more than the cost of going out for pizza? Is this too good to be true?Or am I just skeptical? or Am I just afraid to fail because of lack of effort? What is the normal reaction? Working From Home???? I'm thinking about working from home - which would mean moving from my office. There is never anybody at home during the day, and the office building I currently work in, is pretty much empty - the lovely lady on reception duty, and the moody git who takes the rent from me only pops his shiny forehead round the door every so often. When answering, (I'm basically looking for either "yeah - go for it, take the business home, and save the huge rent" or "no, because..... and reasons," please consider that social / interpersonal relationships with co-workers is not a deciding feature - neither home or work supplies social relief!!

How do I do a single mail-merge email to my business opt-in leads all at once from my Yahoo address? I have a business in which I help mentor home-business owners on how to massively expand and explode their own businesses. On my business website, there is available my free report on how home entrepreneurs can access the "what" and the "how to" of growing their enterprises. To those who opt-in for this info, I want to then do a mail merge -- send the same report to several people at one time, yet it be personalized with their name, as if personally sent by me as a single email. In Word, there is the mail merge feature, but is it available in Yahoo?
I've started a business. What do you think? Hey everyone! I recently started my own online business (www.Dunnaj-Store.com). It's called, Dunnaj International. It is an online store featuring home entertainment, electronics, home interiors, decor, furniture, lighting, automotive, designer bags and sunglasses glasses, lawn furniture and lighting, automotive, & much more too come. Right now I am still working on it (meaning not all products are up) but what do you think I can add to the site to make it more appealing or what do you think of the site all together? Would you purchase from Dunnaj? I think it's coming along very well... PLUS! We have FREE SHIPPING on all our products! Don't ya think that's awesome!? Tell me what you think!
Would this help my business? I own and operate an online store (still under construction) which features home entertainment, electronics, automotive, home decor, furniture, housware, etc. I am offering free shipping on every product store wide, all the time! Forever & ever. The prices on the products are close to wholesale price. For example, a $6,000 Plasma Screen TV that I would be selling would be marked down to around $2,000. Do you think this is a good idea? Do you think this will draw people to do business with my online store, when the prices are lower and free shipping is always included? Or what ideas do you propose I take into consideration? And by the way I do integrate some of the shipping cost into the product's selling price. The reason why I can offer so many products at lower prices is because I do not pay for any products until the products sell. This mean I have the money to advertise, etc. The reason I do offer products at around wholesale is because I am partnered with a wholesale marketer provider. The products are all new, if some are not new yet refurbished it is mentioned in the certain product's description.
Vista home w/ Tablet PC? I just bought Vista home premium edition and didn't realize that I couldn't update it from my XP tablet edition.... what should I do... it gave me the option to delete all the programs on my computer and install vista home... do I want to do this?? Can I still use the "tablet" features w/ home edition? Can I install home premium and then update to business? I've obviously opened the packaging and everything. Also, is there any easy way to save all my files?? (mostly pictures?) Thanks!

business wireless plan? Why is it that wireless companies sell business plans cheaper than family plans and include more features to the business than the family? How can network users use V.92 modem on hold on a wireless home network? Greetings, I have an ad-hoc wireless network in my home and need remote modem-on-hold. I live in a rural area where there are far more deer than people, with no chance of a broadband connection being offered by my phone company. My wife and I both run businesses out of our home that require us to be on the internet a great deal through our 56k dialup connection. Clients occasionally call, and though we have the "Callwave" service and tried similar services they are not really what we need. I am looking for a way that any of the computers on the network can use the modem-on-hold v.92 feature so that any home network user can answer the call by voice even though the modem in use is on the network server as an ICS internet gateway. All computers are running XP Pro. Anyone know how this can be done? Thanks in advance
How do I find a featured article on yahoo? I saw a featured article about "25 home-business ideas" on Yahoo's home page this morning(it was in that featured box on yahoo's home page). That box has been "refreshed' and when I clicked on "More Features", I can't seem to find that article anyway. Does anyone know how to search for this article? I typed in a string of words pertaining to the title of the article on Yahoo's search box, but nothing came up. Can someone please help? Thanks.

Should small business owners be the main character in their own TV commercials or use a professional? Often I see TV commercials for small businesses where the owner is the main character in the commercial. The majority of the time I find these types of commercials are horrible. One specific commercial for a local upscale restaurant features the owner. Throughout the entire comercial you do not know if the business is a restaurant, a funeral home, or a super market. All the owner does is give the name of the business and wants you to stop by and shake his hand. A few years back I saw a TV commerical for a local contractor. The owner begged and pleaded for the public to hire him. Now the ACE Harward commericals seen in Pennsylvania are done by the owner and I think are done very well.

Small Business with Big Marketing Questions - how to market successfully for my needs? I have a small business doing Medical Continuing education. As the owner I have tried to handle all important aspects including marketing up to now. I'm at a point now where I've added to our website a job board, and will soon being adding email newsletters & featured ad space. I can no longer do a successful job myself, so here are my questions: 1.) If I'm paying someone commision only, what is the average draw they should receive? 2.) Is it better to hire someone part-time within the company or to try to hire an outside marketing firm? 3.) If hiring an outside firm, where do I find them, as I won't have a lot of work to offer them. Not sure it matters, but the business is "decentralized" so everyone would work out of their own space/home. Thanks

Key Industry Trends This industry is booming at the present time, there is a trend toward small cozy places and away from the large generic chain. Industry Outlook The coffee business does not show signs of slowing down. With new innovations such as flavorings and additives, it should continue for some time. Marketing Strategy Target Markets Our target market is a artist and writers who need a nice quite cozy place to think and do their work. Description of Key Competitors Of the three coffee shops in the area, one is a large chain with a very expensive product, one is really a home-style restaurant, the last one, and our biggest competitor is an antique store with a "tea room". Analysis of Competitive Position Our pricing strategy and comfortable atmosphere will be the key to our success. None of the other shops in the area can offer this. How can I learn to truly trust my husband while he's away on business with a beautiful co-worker? My husband has never given me reason to not trust him, but I know him very well. I know what he is attracted to because we often talk about physical features that we both find desirable in the opposite sex. He has been coming home a lot lately talking about this girl at work. Yes, he is often talking about what a wonderful Christian she is and never about her beauty. Yet I just have this deep fear that while he may not act on anything, he is looking at her with lust in his heart. We are both Christians and have only been married since July. He is leaving to go to Chicago with her for 4 days, and I am terrified. She is so perfect! She is in his field of work (he loves his job), she is beautiful (much thinner and shorter than myself), and is such a virtuous Christian! I feel as though I will never measure up! He tells me time and time again that he feels nothing for her and that he loves me, but I am so nervous about this business trip. What do I do? He is my everything.
Planning on opening up a package/liquor store, do you think this is a unique idea that will help business? I have never seen a package/liquor store that has a drive-thru feature. Many people are hungry after work and stop at a drive thru fast food restaurant and bring food home. I know when I have a bad day at work, I count the minutes until I can run to the package store, and am not in the mood to be bothered with going inside a store. I always have an easy typical order of a six pack. Do you think it would be a good idea to have a drive thru for my new business? Are there any laws around this idea to consider?
HP officejet v40 - Need to Hook Up Fax Feature? I have my printer hooked up so I can use the printer/copier/scanner features, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to get my fax to work. I have a brand new Acer computer with a high-speed DSL modem. Right now l have the home version of MS windows. I can see in the "Control Panel" that the fax icon is there and that is says it's ready. Although when I try to fax, nothing happens and nobody can fax me. Do I need a new program installed? Any suggestions? Please reply ASAP, as I would like to use it for my home business. Thanks!
in 2006 which mac laptop should i buy? I have a Gateway laptop now, but it's slow. I use quickbooks, MS Outlook, MS word, MS excel and the internet extensively in my home business - usually all at the same time. I also use itunes, have an ipod, and travel alot. I do not want to mess with both a desktop and laptop, so my laptop needs to be able to handle my home needs fast and travel well. I'm more concerned with performance and features than price.
Can I use Call Transfer with VOIP? Hello I hope someone can help me I have been on the phone today for 5 hours to BT and I still do not know the answer so if there is anyone out there who knows about voip then please answer. Basicaly I currently have a residential bt line with unlimited calls in the UK but I have started to work from home and I need to have a facility on my phone where if I call up a client and then I want to transfer the client to one of my colleagues at another office, notify my colleague that I have a client on the phone and then hang up leaving just the client and my colleague on the phone.BT say I cant have this feature on a residential line-need a business feature line.Calls on a bus line are 10p so I looked into bt business broadband voice which is £20 a month but offers unlimited voip calls however I still need the facility to transfer potential clients and I have spoken to many people at BT some say it is possible if I have a IP phone with a transfer button some say its not-does anyone know?
Anyone have more info on the company Waiora? I have been trying to research the company Waiora. I read in the Home Business magazine that it is a great company to work for and that you can literally make 800k a year working from home through them. Has anyone heard more, or tried working for them? It seemed like a pretty easy job but there are a lot of scam work from home jobs out there. I tried to have faith in it though because it a gentleman was featured on the front of this magazine stating how he works for them and makes tons of money. Any info would be great. Thanks!

How do I get a grant/funding to start a small business.? I have a radio feature on the air. Which is a great radio product with an outstanding audience-appeal. Everyone LOVES it!. However, as a single parent with 6 sons ages 2-17, I NEEED funding to promote my feature into a viable income for my boys and I. I research, write and produce all of my episodes at home with very high broadcast quality. The radio feature is not a talk show. It is a 3 minute feature aired throughout a broadcast day (i.e. at the bottom of every hour etc.) I have over a million fans at this point yet have no money to promote it. I think a grant could be possible. Any educated suggestions?

Will Gore's Show Be The Biggest On Earth? Notice where it's being held in communist China! Gore show is set to be biggest on earth Gore show is set to be biggest on earth China will broadcast Live Earth, giving the climate change concerts an audience of 2 billion. Will that silence the sceptics? David Smith reports Sunday July 1, 2007 The Observer Nowhere, perhaps, will be more important than Shanghai. One of eight cities hosting Live Earth concerts for Al Gore's crusade against climate change on Saturday, it will help deliver a vast audience across China. And with the world's most populous country on board, organisers believe they can reach 2 billion people and eclipse even Live8 as the biggest global media event of all time. It will begin at 1.10am British Summer Time in Sydney, Australia, then roll around the globe with concerts in Tokyo, Johannesburg, Shanghai, Hamburg, London's Wembley stadium, New York and finally, at 8pm, Rio de Janeiro's Copacabana beach. A special performance at the British Antarctic Survey Station in Antarctica will ensure all seven continents are included. There will be saturation coverage from TV, radio, the internet and at more than 6,000 parties in 119 countries. Critics have argued the 24-hour spectacular - featuring more than 150 acts including Madonna, Lily Allen, Genesis, Bon Jovi, Kanye West, Kelly Clarkson, Black Eyed Peas and Jack Johnson - will do more for the stars' careers than raising awareness of climate change. But Gore will use it to urge people to sign a seven-point pledge calling on governments to agree, within two years, an international treaty that cuts global warming pollution by 90 per cent in developed countries and by more than half worldwide. It also asks people to cut their own pollution, make their homes, businesses, schools and transport more energy efficient, and plant new trees and preserve forests. With its rapid economic growth and soaring carbon emissions, China is regarded as a crucial target for this message. Kevin Wall, the executive producer of Live Earth, has succeeded where he did not two years ago as a co-organiser of Live8, the centrepiece of the Make Poverty History campaign. 'We're on Chinese TV with 800 million people, ' he told The Observer. 'People often think on a parochial basis, so it's vital to be there. We've got to talk and make the whole world listen.' Live Earth China, on the steps of the Oriental Pearl Tower in Shanghai, will feature popular national singers as well as Britain's Sarah Brightman, and be broadcast across the country by the Shanghai Media Group. Steve Howard, chief executive of The Climate Group, a London-based campaign organisation supporting Live Earth, said: 'The US and China are responsible for half the world's carbon emissions. Live Earth will get huge attention in both. The biggest issue on the planet ever requires the biggest media event ever.' The seed was planted less than two years ago at the Beverly Hills Hotel in California, when Wall, a veteran concert producer, attended a slide show about global warming presented by Gore, as featured in the Oscar-winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth 'Over the course of the 90 minutes my wife and I were very emotionally moved by the climate crisis,' said Wall, 54, a father of three. 'We understood for the first time it was about us, our children and our children's children. This is not just a movie - it's happening.' Wall met the former US vice-president and discussed taking the message to as many people as possible: 'After Live8 I said never again, but I got the call from Al Gore, the global rock star on this issue. What I can do on the day is deliver 2 billion pairs of eyeballs.' On Saturday Gore will be at the Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, near New York City, where the Police, Smashing Pumpkins, Alicia Keys and others will perform. 'We don't want him getting on planes burning carbon,' Wall acknowledged. Profits from Live Earth will go to Gore's Alliance for Climate Protection. But the entire event has been questioned by Bob Geldof, organiser of Live Aid and Live8. In May he said: 'I hope they're a success. But why is he [Gore] actually organising them? To make us aware of the greenhouse effect? Everybody's known about that for years. We are all fucking conscious of global warming.' Sceptics have also pointed to the amount of electricity used to power the speakers and lights, and the fuel spent on ferrying musicians and their equipment to the venues by plane and lorry. Wall said: 'We are trying to minimise the carbon as much as possible. Most artists are coming from nearby areas. Madonna, for example, lives in London and will be performing at Wembley.' He added: 'There are 3,000 concerts a year. We're doing 10, but touching 2 billion people about what I think is the biggest issue that's ever faced humanity.' Steve Howard of the environmental charity Climate Group said: 'Dealing with climate change doesn't mean we have got to stop live performances or call for a moratorium on football matches. There are positive choices for people to make. If we get this right, in 10 to 15 years time every product will be a green product. 'Live Earth is a big step in the right direction.' Howard added. 'Arnold Schwarzenegger put it well when he said in Washington DC: "We need to make the environment cool and sexy."' Organisers deny that Live Earth will be a one-off that could be soon forgotten. They have produced more than 60 short films, 30 public service announcements featuring stars such as Cameron Diaz and Penelope Cruz, and a book, The Live Earth Global Warming Survival Handbook by David de Rothschild, that will be published in Britain this week. http://observer.guardian.co.uk/world/story/0,,2115785,00.html

Can anyone suggest to me a good place to advertise for employees to work from home in Colorado? Our company is expanding and we REALLY need to find some people to train in the Colorado area. I already advertise on the larger sites like craigslist and monster. I am looking for something more local. The business is mostly computer work, comes with benefits and a 401k plan and was recently featured on the television show 60 minutes. Any innovative ideas would be appreciated. We are looking for motivated individuals to train to make a six figure income within 2-4 years. Someone just emailed and asked me if we want employees for other states. The answer is yes, we hire nationally, but there is a need in Colorado in particular. Shopper guide? need more details

Looking for a team to create online income? (work at home)? No, I'm not going to spam or anything, but I would like to propose an honest question to anyone out there who is looking for an online business: I have recently set up my page, www.isuccess.ws, and used the information from the GDI website to fill it. The company has been around for 8 years and it's been featured in many magazines so I do not doubt it's repuation/stability. I like all of you look for new online jobs just about any day when I have nothing better to do, and it's rare I come across one I'm willing to pay for. Anyway, there is a free 7 day trial, and I wanted to know if anyone is interested in making a business team to help each other advertise, or start up their own companies. I am more than willing to dedicate some time into helping anyone interested. The best part about this business is that you make money by helping others do the same. Email me or IM me on AIM at fejjery18(if I am online), and I will surely talk this over with you in detail.

does anybody know how to go about getting a food/gastronomy book published? For three years now, I've wanted to write a book featuring cuisine and restaurants of the Czech Republic. Mostly because lack of confidence, and not knowing how to go about it, it's only continued to be a dream (despite support for it from friends back home and in Cz). However, I must do this project and would greatly appreciate any insight that you might offer me. I lived in Liberec (Bohemia) for 1 year, and also graduated from culinary school last year, which is why this idea compels me so. My overall aim is to help future travellers to Cz appreciate the gastronomic qualities of the food by introducing them to the delightful dishes and restaurants (as well as proprieters) that I encountered whilst there, and, in doing so, provide these great establishments with an increase in business and pride in receiving recognition.
Why does Microsoft produce different versions of Windows while Apple only produce one that has it all? It's very weird though. There's a Windows XP Home Edition, Professional, Media Center, Tablet PC, Embedded, and Starter. While Apple has only Mac OS X Tiger but has all the features like a home computer, for students, and multimedia. On the other hand, there's Windows Vista Starter, Home Basic and Premium, Business, and Ultimate. While Apple has only Mac OS X Leopard with all the features of Home, Business and Multimedia.
Do you think this would be a good business? please help me? I want to have a small home business that is like this.... I want to offer families with young children or toddlers to build them a model HO scale train layout with Thomas the tank Engine features, like a roundtable shed, Gordon's hill, and Thomas' branch line. I would have to charge an up front price of an amount between 300 and 700 dollars, so I can purchase all supplies and engines to make the kids happy. Ioriginally thought of just making normal Ho layouts, but I thought it would attract the young kids if I can build Thomas the tank engine layouts. I use to watch that show when I was a toddler and I made myself a model train layout, but I know I can do more. I use to watch that show when I was a toddler, and know I'm 14 and I think I can make those creations that the Tomas creators make. Do you think this is a good idea?? my name isn't jackson?? more: oh and another thing, I really don't want to do it for the money, I just want to do what Iove to do, my hobby. I just think more families with young children would want a thomas layout instead of a modern day one like the one I made for myself. more: oh and another thing, I really don't want to do it for the money, I just want to do what I Iove to do, my hobby. Free call forwarding number to my cell.? I am looking for free service like Google's Grand Central, where I can forward my phone calls to my cell phone for my home based business. One of the features I am looking for is the ability to have just my number forwarded so that I know it's a business call, I don't need to know who is calling.
Can I sue this online business for fraud? I was contacted by a rep of web design company Higher Impact, asking me if I was interested in an online home business opportunity. He had a voice recording explain everything to me and I thought it couldn't hurt to try. The basics behind the idea are that I buy a website from the company for a one-time, fixed fee of $110. The website would feature products from the company's sponsors offering health care, mortgages, and something else. For every product sold through my site, I would get a commission. My only job then, would be to drive traffic to my website. For that, the rep explained to me that the company will provide me with "marketing coaches" that will "coach" me on how to drive traffic to my website. I bought the idea, gave the my CC info and paid $110 for the website. The rep told me that I will get a call from a "coach" in 2-3 days. I wait 14 days, and after submitting a complaint to their site, I get a call the next day from the "coach". He sweets talks (i.e. bullshits) me about how good this business opportunity is, and tells me that he will have another "coach" contact me in several minutes. The "coach" finally calls me, and after 10 minutes of trying to bullshit her way to getting me "excited" about this business opportunity, she tells me that there are three packages available - on for $5K for 10K traffic to my site, one for $10K, and another for $20K. At this point, you probably know why I consider this to be fraud. I was never told that their "coaching" would consist of them peddling me their "traffic packages" for tens of Gs. I could easily just get my $110 back and finish this, but this is straight up, no-bones-about-it FRAUD, and I don't want them to get away with it!!! Is there anything that can be done about this in courts? Could I sue them, and if yes, then for which possible amount? Up to 10K, 100K, mil K??? Obviously money wouldn't be the only issue here, as their business practices are fraudulent and need to be rectified. Thanks in advance!
Logoff/shutdown script in Vista Home Premium? I have been using Windows XP Media Center Edition for the past 2 years and have configured several scripts to run automatically at logoff and shutdown. In XP, I could set these up through gpedit.msc. Now, I've switched to Vista Home Premium. Home Premium does not have features like Group Policy (yes, I understand that I need Business or Ultimate... but I got this copy of Vista for free through HP's Express Upgrade program, and just recently got around to using it). I'm trying to set up a script to automatically run at logoff or shutdown. Since I don't have gpedit, how can I do this? (I don't want to make some sort of shortcut on the desktop/quick launch/wherever -- I want this script to run on a normal shutdown). There's gotta be a way... a Google search yields virtually no results. I'm trying to figure out how to get my own script to run at shutdown, NOT a script that shuts down the computer.
