Looking for at home work..?

I'm tired of only being able to spend 3-4 hours a day with my daughter during the week. By the time I get home from my job thats all I have left before bed time. Does anyone know of any real work from home opportunities that dont include paying $ upfront. All I ever find for at home work are scams. I know there has to be something out there that I can do from home. So if you know of anything please let me know. Thanks in advance!
I live in Michigan. Saginaw County.
Currently I am an administrative assistant. I'm good with a computer and people.

1. Depends on where you live, I know you can work as a sales and service rep. for 1-800-FLOWERS.COM if you live within 50 miles of the call center =] There are only 3.

2. Don't know. I keep 2 school age kids during the summer which keeps my 9 year old son with playmates. Most weeks, its 4 days, some its 2 or 3 depending on if the kids go to their dads family or not. Granted, this is during the day.and not evening work.

3. Try becoming a babysitter for 1 or 2 children, that way you are home with your baby and making money the same time.

I have been looking for work from home jobs and have found only scams and ones that want $$ up front.

Best of Luck to you =)

4. OMG I felt the same way and quit my job a year ago. I was a programmer and web developer and now I freelance. I help local small business by building websites and writing programs for them.

What do you do now? You can start some type of at home business yourself. You can do an errand service, or an online secretary, or do gift baskets, online consignment shop, ebay, or get a few guys and start a lawn service.

Check out this site for other ideas. Good luck!!!

5. doing your own at home daycare can be profitable and it's good interaction for your daughter to have other kids there. i know my sons daycare is $130 a week! so there is money to be made. where i live you can legally keep 5 children which includes your own in your home without being licensed. it's risky though getting the parents to pay on time, and you have to decide if they need to provide food, drinks, and snack or if you will do all that and charge more. i have seriously considered myself before but i got a really good job and the money is excellent for a female around these mountains so i couldn't turn down. good luck!!!

6. I have been a stay at home mom for 6 years now, and would like to go back to work, but still have time for my kids. One option I've been looking into is a virtual assistant. Basically you work from a home office as an administrative assistant, working on projects and answering phones. It may be something for you to look into more seriously than I have.

Here is an artile from Entrepreneur regarding the basics:

9. Since you are an administrative assistant, have you considered seeing if they would let you do a couple of days work from home. More and more place are doing this. Make sure you have a plan to present as to how this could work out with current job.

I have recently started a work from home business. I have invested a little money, but that part was optional, as I paid for support. Please feel free to take a look at http://ld-stroder-online.com and see if you might be interested as well.

Good luck!

11. Another answer referred you to being a virtual assistant. Because of my administrative background (and yours) you too can set yourself up as a virtual assistant working from home. I've done this for 4 years now and work around my kids, no more 12 hour days away in the city working as a PA. This resource site is great for prospective virtual assistants. This is an industry that is booming at the moment.

12. With me, I was working with 3 kids. By the time I got home, cooked, cleaned, gave the kids a bath it was time for them to go to bed. Then my babysitter quit on me. This was the third one my kids had been through, and it wasn't my kids, they just wanted to go back to work themself. So instead of finding a new one we decided that I would just stay at home and babysit. Well now the kids I babysit are going back to school I will not be watching them, so I did some searches and found a great work at home job. I signed up just this week and so excited about. Let me know if you want more info.

16. There are a lot of places you can get work without upfront money. I am an internet marketer and we are always looking for people to write articles and post comments on blogs and forums.

You can also start making money by joining some of the commission based websites like clickbank, commission junction or any of the other sites, there are a lot of them.

17. You shouldn't pay to work for someone else at home, but if you want to have your own business, then you should expect to pay something. Not everything that you would have to pay upfront is a scam. If you join a company and they have an enrollment fee that covers the policies and procedures, forms, etc, then that's not necessarily a scam. Just check out the Better Business Bureau first. Also, ask some questions--how long have you been in business? what kind of start up fee? refundable? what type of products?

You can find a good company out there, but it you will need to listen to what the companies have to say. It won't fall into your lap.

Good luck.
