Work at Home Jobs?

Does anyone know of any really good work at home jobs where I can make a decent income? Right now, I am working in retail so I am on my feet for about eight to nine hours a day. I am also pregnant with my first child. I am only in my first trimester. I'm going to work as much as I can until I go on maternity leave, but when I do go on maternity leave, I need to find some other work to do so I won't get behind on bills. That's why I am thinking about this way ahead of time. Does anyone know of a good work at home job for expectant mothers or stay at home moms?

1. There are real work at home jobs, you could do them while pregnant. But its harder with a baby at home. REAL jobs are usually customer service, where you chat online or talk on the phone with customers, or prospective customers, and do your work over the internet. One example is Jet Blue. When you call to make reservations or check a price, you get someone at home. It would work while you were pregnant, but you could only do it (even at home) while someone else was taking care of the baby. You have to have a distraction free environment.

Other jobs that are work at home are usually sales jobs, where if you don't sell something you don't get paid. If you're social and like sales that would be really good for you, if not then you won't make any money.

There are a lot of scams out there, though, so be careful.

I do mystery shopping part time for extra money, many jobs I can take my baby (but many I can't) and it pays okay. I also deliver newspapers one day a week, since it only takes a short time and I drive in my own car I can also take my kids if I need to. It doesn't sound like a lot, but I make an extra $800 a month on average, which helps a lot with our bills.

You can also consider babysitting or doing a home daycare. I know lots of moms who watch one other baby full time or a couple of toddlers part time for extra money.

If you rent, especially if you live in an apartment, you could consider managing a small apartment complex. When my second daughter was a newborn we were renting and I got a job as an apartment manager at a 30 unit complex. I got a free 2 bedroom apartment plus a small salary. I was only required to answer my work phone when I was home and have some regular work hours (which I could set). I worked an average of 10 hours a week and never had to get a babysitter. At the first of the month I would stay up really late logging all of the rent payments and preparing the deposit, then I would make a trip to the bank. The management company had someone do yardwork and maintenance, so I just scheduled work that needed to be done. I didn't even have to clean. All I really did was show emtpy apartments, fill out leases and collect rent. It was very easy and saved us a ton of money in rent, plus I got the nicest apartment in the complex and a small salary.

2. Most of the answers you'll get here will point you toward a network marketing type opportunity. You can generate a good income from them, but not if you listen to the company's method of doing business (i.e., bugging all your friends and family). I've been there and done that. Learn how to be success at this type of business before deciding to do one. It will save you a whole lot of time and generate income faster. My network marketing business was not growing until I read the 7 Lies of Network Marketing. Now I'm growing. Read this first, then find a company that you want to work with.
