How to best store/play mp3s with home stereo quality? No home PC. I like to keep my laptop at work.?

I have loads of mp3s that I listen to on my laptop computer and mp3 player. I do not have a home PC. In order to hear the mp3s at home I need to bring my laptop back and forth from work. I want a system at home that plays and stores the mp3s but without buying another computer. I am tired of hearing the music on the little speakers that attatch to portable mp3 players. I want something with home stereo capabilities - excellent sound quality. The ideal system would store and catalogue the music and either attatch to or have built in amplifier/equalizer features and of course, have great speakers or be able to hook up to them. I do not need wireless functions. Most of them are used in tandem with a home PC anyhow - which I am trying to avoid.

1. Get a portable player with enough capacity to store your collection, and hook it up to your stereo through the headphone jack. The cable from Radio Shack costs $5 or so. Copy your mp3 collection to the portable, and you're done.

2. I recommend burning them on to a CD-R,i use NERO to do this.
You can play this disc on most DVD players, and some CD players. As long as it says MP3 on it

3. personally i have an iPod and it is the little wonder...

you can get simple home stereo to hook it up to from the Apple Store or even get a larger one from BOSE.

awesome & perfect.
